1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
1/4 apple, chopped (for topping)

In a jar or container, mix the steel-cut oats, almond milk, applesauce, chia seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and maple syrup.
Stir well and refrigerate for at least 12 hours (steel-cut oats take longer to soften than rolled oats).
In the morning, stir again and top with chopped apple and your favorite crunch.
